Essential oils are antiseptic & most are antibacterial as well, so adding some to the air you breathe is a great idea! Essential oils offer natural aromas too.. nothing synthetic or perfumy. In June 2014 Health Canada requested a name change to popular product called Mari's Gold MOVE! (as it sounds too much like "OFF!" they said).. to something "less suggestive".. and so Mari's Gold SUMMER Body Oil, Mist and Concentrate was born.
No reference to pest control is allowed on products, without being registered as a pesticide by Health Canada. Once the name was changed, labels were revised to indicate alternate uses to Mari's Gold SUMMER PRODUCTS.
These are the same great products that has been available since 2000. They are all natural, re-vitalizing during summer heat, with essential oils of peppermint, lavender, citronella & lemongrass. Massage the oil into skin to moisturize while sun-tanning. Oil and mist are soothing for headaches, sunburn, skin irritations and after-bite. Refill mist with economical concentrate or freshen air on porch or picnic table by diffusing concentrate in steaming water... over tealight candle.. or in fondue pot.
Foot Care April 2, 2014 06:01
Spring is a busy time! Everyone is out there.. running, biking, walking.. and our feet can take a real beating. Some occupations require standing for long periods of time.. and some sports, like running and dancing, place a lot of strain on the feet. Blisters can become infected, but 1 drop of lavender oil on an open blister, will stop it from becoming infected.
Massage the feet to keep them supple and free from injury. Mari's Gold Foot Balm has been formulated with soothing calendula and hypericum oils, shea butter, vit E.. and antiseptic and refreshing essential oils of peppermint, spearmint and wintergreen.
A soothing soak in warm water with bath salts, epsom salts, baking soda with a few drops of essential oils, or few drops of Mari's Gold Foot Oil, will leave feet feeling clean, soft, and pampered. Well-cared for feet will support our physical activity and help withstand the pressure placed on the 26 bones in each foot.
For deep heel cracks, apply Mari's Gold Nature's Nursemaids following a foot soak, massage Mari's Gold Foot Balm or Foot Oil into feet, then cover with bandaid and clean socks. The calendula-infused glycerin has proven to repair.. soothe & comfort deep cracks in skin.
Just be sure to take care of your feet and they will take care of you!

Calendula (Pot Marigold) Oil September 15, 2013 04:20
Calendula Oil is the inspiration.. and foundation for most Mari's Gold products. It is an infused oil, very valuable for its powerful skin-healing properties. Dried calendula marigold petals are sun-infused in sunflower oil for a month, then strained, to produce a rich golden-coloured carrier oil. This resulting oil can then be used unfragranced, for massage or bath.. or with essential oils added.
Calendula oil is antiseptic & anti-inflammatory. It is beneficial for cuts, burns, rashes & scars. It is useful for dry, inflamed & irritated skin, including psoriasis and eczema. It is calming & soothing - gentle enough for sensitive skin and is popular in baby products. It is a valuable ingredient in soaps, salves, lotions & ointments, and superior carrier oil for aromatherapy massage & bath oils. Active ingredients are flavonoids, carotene, vitamins A & E.
Calendula oil is available in 30ml, 100ml, 125 ml at retail cost.

Essential Oils Boost Immune System April 30, 2013 08:36
The more you work with essential oils, the more you will learn and experience how they help heal the human body, especially the immune system. Aromatherapy is a highly effective treatment for a depleted or suppressed immune system because we can employ essential oils that have been proven to boost the immune system.
Essential Oils that are **IMMUNE BOOSTERS** - Tea Tree, Lavender, Geranium, Rosemary
Using essential oils to treat a depleted immune system can be a very positive treatment – especially when used regularly.
Research has shown that essential oils work as natural immune boosters in three different modes of action:
1) They work directly against the invading bacteria and viruses due to their powerful antibacterial and antiviral actions.
2) Certain essential oils can influence the stimulation and production of phagocytes, T- cells and B- cells which are so vital to your body’s defences.
3) Other essential oils can give an uplifting boost to the emotional system, which helps break the downward spiral caused by immunodeficiency. This effect is quite unique to aromatherapy - helping to break the circle of illness that causes.. and is caused by.. depression.
Regular use of the correct essential oils – particularly in aromatherapy massage – will have a powerful effect on the limbic system, which in turn has an uplifting and natural healing effect on the mind, body and spirit.

Essential Oils - Home & Office Use March 11, 2013 07:15
Use of essential oils will help clean and clear your environment of unwanted bacteria and viruses. Lavender, rosemary, tea tree, eucalyptus, lemon & grapefruit are just a few bacteria-busting essential oils you may want to add to water to diffuse in boiling water or vaporizer/humidifier. Add any combination of these to water and spray into air in form of mist. Try adding some drops to furnace or vacuum filter to purify stale air. A few drops of essential oil added to dust cloth will freshen & revitalize air quality & keep germs at bay.
Introduction to Essential Oils January 23, 2013 13:31
Essential oils are not really oils, but liquids, extracted from plants, flowers, trees, fruits and herbs. The very "essence" of each plant is extracted, most commonly by steam distillation. A large quantity of plant material is heated by steam and water, then the evaporated oil and steam is passed, cooled & separated through coils. The resulting essential oils are used world-wide in aromatherapy, cosmetic, perfumery, and pharmaceutical preparations, as well as candle and soap making. With increased public awareness, education, and popularity, essential oils are now used widely by individuals at home. Essential oils are powerful in their beneficial uses and properties.. a few drops go a long way! Each essential oil has its own therapeutic use and benefit, and must be diluted in water, or carrier oil, before applying to the skin. The exceptions are lavender & tea tree which can be applied "neat" or directly to the skin. The most common form of absorption is by massage, bath, inhalation or compress. Essential oils are sensitive to heat and light and should be stored in a dark, cool environment. They all enjoy a long shelf-life, and do not expire.. but may lose some of their potency when they come into contact with air and heat.
